42 GENERAL COLLEGE RULES For Matriculated Students card of admission to the classes is issued at the Secretary's Office on presentation of schedule signed by the Principal or Dean of the Faculty and on payment of the fee No student is entitled to attend the classes until he has obtained an admission card The daily work of the College is opened with short Service in the Chapel at 35 All Matriculated Students are required to attend the Service and also the weekly Divinity lectures given by the Principal or Vice-Principal unless exempted on account of con- scientious objections or for some special reason The Academical Cap and Gown are worn by all Matriculated Students within the precincts of the College except in the dissecting-room laboratories and workshops All new Students are examined on their joining the College with the view of ascertaining that they are sufficiently advanced to enable them to take advantage of the College classes The Principal and Professors have the power of sending back for time any who may be considered unqualified for admission The Council require that Half-term's Notice be given to the Secretary in writing of the removal of Student whether Matriculated or non-Matriculated from the College This notice must be given before the close of the first half of the Term in which Student is to leave and if not so given the payment of Half-term's Fees will be required Each Candidate for Matriculation must produce testi- monial of good character from his last instructor and when admitted by the Principal must subscribe his name to declaration that he will conform to all the rules and regula- tions which may from time to time be prescribed for the good government of the College under the sanction and authority of the Council The College cap and gown maybe purchased from Messrs Northam Co 19 Tavistock Street Strand or from Messrs Ede Son 93 94 Chancery Lane ii ii
