352 CIVIL SERVICE CLASSES Subjects taken in the Junior Section -Religious Instruction Handwriting Orthography Arithmetic English Grammar Composition and Literature Geography Physical Geography English History Indexing Copying MS Digesting Returns into Summaries Book-keeping by Double Entry Euclid Algebra French Some of these subjects are omitted by boys going up for Examination at an early date It is obvious that boy educated in these Classes will have the best possible chance of gaining Civil Service Appoint- ment At the same time his general education is not neglected Fees in the Junior Section -If entering before 13 £2 per term If entering between 13 and 15 £2 105 per term If entering after 15 £3 per term boy's fees are not raised whilst he is in the Junior Section In determining the fee of boy joining at the beginning of φ term his age is taken on the first day of the month in which the term begins In determining the fee of boy joining after the beginning of term his age is taken on the first day of the month in which he joins The terms begin in January May September SENIOR SECTION This is for Students over 16 who are preparing directly for Second Division Clerkship or the Excise or London County Council Clerkship For schemes of Examination Ages Salaries &c see Division Evening Classes Subjects taken in the Senior Section -These include all the subjects of the Examination the student is preparing for Political Economy for Composition and Algebra for Higher Arithmetic French is taken or not at the Student's option Fees in the Senior Section -£5 per term GENERAL ARRANGEMENTS The Junior and Senior Sections are entirely distinct organizations Boys approaching 16 and in the opinion of Messrs Braginton and Hinks sufficiently advanced may be admitted to the Senior Section on payment of the Senior fee
