FACULTY OF MEDICINE iff 11 £ rf 261 ment and the Council during six months shall it otherwise eligible be considered as having cateris paribus claim to be elected to the office of House Physician Physician-Accoucheur's Assistant -He shall be qualified by some Diploma to practise at the date at which his duties commence and shall have served the office of In-patient Clinical Clerk for the Physician for Diseases of Women and Children and Physician-Accoucheur or Out-patient Clerk to the Assistant-Physician for Diseases of Women and Children Candidates will be examined in Midwifery and in the Diseases of Women and Children No Student shall be eligible to enter on the duties of this office at period later than seven years from the date of his Matriculation or year of standing in the Medical Faculty or eight years if he have passed the Primary the Intermediate Examination of London or the corre- sponding Examination of any other British University The duties of Phvsician-Aecoucheur's Assistant and of the Assistant House Accoucheur acting under him are as follow He shall have the immediate superintendence of all the Midwifery cas3s under the direction of the Physician- Accoucheur or of the Assistant Physician-Accoucheur in the absence of the Phvsician-Aco cheur He shall apportion the cases see that efficient arrangements are made for due attendance upon them and accompany the Students to their first cases lie shall require daily report from the Students in attend ance and shall himself visit and hold himself responsible for the proper attendance of all recently confined women whose progress is not thoroughly satisfactory and shall report all such cases to the Physician and Assistant Physician- Accoucheur IL riλiי יi 11 fjl φ fl fJ'J He shall keep an accurate account of the cases in the books supplied for the purpose shall send for the Physician- Accoucheur or Assistant Physician-Accoucheur in all cases requiring instrumental delivery and in all cases of difficulty and shall be held responsible for immediately reporting all ases of iroegularity or neglect
