Other Students of this Division may be admitted to this Class at any period of their study on payment of the usual extra fee The Text-book used in both these Courses is Bloxam's Laboratory Teaching Fee Ā£4 4s for the Course ANALYTICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL CHEMISTRY Accommodation is provided in the Advanced Laboratories for those Students who may wish to acquire more minute acquaintance with certain subdivisions of the science than can be conveyed in regular Course of Lectures and Demonstrations These Laboratories are under the superintendence of the Professor and Demonstrators By this means each Student will be enabled to familiarize himself with the various methods of analysis and the operations of research The work in these Laboratories includes All Branches of Analytical Chemistry -The special study of the chemical processes applied in Manufacturing Art Agriculture Mining Metallurgy &c the examination of gases waters fuels foods drugs raw and finished products organic analysis the uses of the microscope spectroscope and polariscope in Chemistry and the applica- tion of physical methods for analysis The particular plan of study followed by each Student will depend on the objects he may have in view Senior Students are encouraged when sufficiently ad- vanced to carry out research work The Daniell Scholarship is awarded annually for researches conducted in the Laboratory and is tenable for two years Students may enter for longer or shorter time at any period of the year except during the Vacations and at an expense proportionate to the time of their stay In addition to the Laboratory Fee each Student defrays the expenses of his own experiments the amount of this expense is largely under his own control
