ENGINEERING SOCIETY Patrons Rev Henry Wace Principal Rt Rev Bishop Barry Wolfe Barry Esq Inst Prof Grylls Adams Sc Prof Capper Inst Prof John Hopkinson Sc Inst Prof Î’ anisterFletcher Prof Hudson Hulme Huntington Robinson Inst TnoMSON Rev Prof Wiltshire Herroun Esq Walter Smith Esq Inst Wilson Esq Inst This Society was formed in the Lent Term 1847 by the Students in the Faculty of Science for the purpose of reading papers on Scientific and Engineering subjects and discussing questions thus brought forward For this pur- pose meetings are held every Friday afternoon during Term The Society has also valuable Library of standard scientific works to which frequent additions are made In the Society's Reading Room which is open daily to all Members the leading Papers and Periodicals as well as the Technical Journals relating to Engineering and Electrical subjects are provided The Expenses of the Society are defrayed by Subscription of per Term from each Member Gentlemen who may wish to join are requested to com- municate with the Honorary Secretary of the Society MEDICAL SOCIETY The object of this Society is the cultivation of Medicine and the auxiliary sciences by the propagation of spirit of original research and observation and of feeling of friend- ship and co-operation of those engaged in the pursuit of these sciences An Ordinary Meeting at which paper is read is held once fortnight during the Winter Session Clinical meeting is also held once month for the exhibition of Pathological and Microscopical specimens and the discussion of cases
