remains in the School on condition of the production to the Council each Term after the first of satisfactorj' report from the Head Master on his work and conduct in the pre- ceding Term These Scholarships will be awarded by competitive examination in the usual subjects of Public School education but regard will be had to special excellence in either Classics Mathematics or Science and to the age of the candidates and no candidate will be eligible whose work does not reach satisfactory standard The Examination for these Scholarships begins on the day fixed for the admission of new Pupils in each Term and the names of candidates must be sent to the Head Master together with certificate of age and of character on form to be obtained from the Secretary before on the pre- ceding Friday The amount of the Scholarship will be deducted from the ordinary School fees payable each Term In the case of any boy elected to Scholarship Certificate of Birth will be required Names of Scholars 1804 Smithers Leonard Sueton Green Ernest Newham Pfleiderer Walter Konrad Dunkerton Norman Edwin Wood Herbert Lawrence 1895 Batt Francis James Cotton Robert Hugh Chester Leslie Ingram 1896 Rolt Clarence Edwin Simpson Thomas Brookbank XIX Open to all Divisions Given by the Council This Medal is awarded annually to the boy who shall most distinguish himseif at the July examination either in Divinity Classics and English Literature or in Divinity Mathematics and English Literature
