1g8 FACULTY OF SCIENCE The metallic elements and their compounds are then discussed and this part of the Course is completed with resume in which the connected relations of the properties of the elements are described The latter portion of the Course embraces in the same manner study of the principles and properties of the compounds which are examples of tho main groups of organic substances For fuller dotails consult the separate Syllabuses provided for each Class Class Examinations are held from time to time during the Session The following are the Classes held -For Students intending to devote themselves to Medicine Pharmacy or Scientific or Professional Chemistry or to take degree in Medicine or Science in London or other Universities On Monday Wednesday Thursday 10 20-11 20 Course of about Sixty and Seventy Lectures by the Professor commencing in October and terminating in March Inorganic Chemistry October November December Organic Chemistry January February and March II -For Students intending to devote themselves to Engineering Manufacturing Chemistry Mining Chemistry as profession Agriculture Manufactures Military Science the Civil Service and for those who are studying Chemistry for the sake of general information and as part of liberal education Tuesday and Friday 10 20-11 20 Course of between Fifty and Sixty Lectures by the Professor carried on during the whole Academical year This Course is of such character that Students who have ready had some preparation in the Science may enter without serious disadvantage at the commencement of either of the College Terms though it is strongly recom- mended that the Course be taken up in the Michaelmas Term
