CIVIL SERVICE CLA Shfe 585 must be between 18 and 20 years of age Examinations may be expected about twice year Inquiries respecting this class should be addressed to the Secretary King's College Strand or to Mr Harcourt Fernwood House Lansdowne Road South Wood- ford -CORRESPONDENCE TUITION FOR PROVINCIAL CANDIDATES FOR FEMALE CLERKSHIPS Correspondence is recommended to those only who are beyond reach of good oral instruction Correspondence students follow the same course of study as those of the oral classes and the same papers are given These are ex- amined marked and returned with solutions when needed This may prove very helpful to those who have had good general education but is incomparably inferior to oral tuition It is therefore most strongly recommended that no one should rely on Correspondence who is able to attend the Oral Classes in London Times of Beginning -A New Course of Preparation is begun about four weeks after each Competition and is con- tinued up to the next Competition The Course is divided for convenience as to payment of fees and admission of new students into periods of six and twelve weeks Fees -These are identical with the two attendance week fee in the Oral Class and must be paid in advance either by postal or money order or crossed cheque payable to Harcourt New students should send them if possible at least week before the beginning of the Course so as to give time for arranging their work Students have the option of joining the Oral Class in London at any time during their period without extra fee Work must he sent in punctually No exercise can be ex- amined which is more than three days late Books These are the same as for the Oral Class-Brook- Smith's Arithmetic and King's College Obligatory Arithmetic
