CIVIL SERVICE CLASSES 577 Six months before his Examination candidate for Boy Clerkship is excused the home work in certain subjects and enters Special Class held in the afternoon where the work the morning classes is supplemented as far as may be lecessary For this special Class no extra fee is charged Boys are not assigned to this Class unless there is good 3rospect of their success at the next Examination Advantages contemplated -It is obvious that boy educated η these classes will have the best possible chance of gaining Civil Service Appointment At the same time his general 5ducation is not neglected Terms and Hours -There are three terms in the year eginning about the usual times in January May September ind each lasting about thirteen weeks flours -9 30 to 45 each day except Saturday when here are no Classes Fees to be paid in advance -For pupils under 15 £2 10s er term over 15 and under 17 £3 over 17 £5 Extra subjects Shorthand and Latin 10s per term for ach subject for pupils under 17 15s for pupils over 17 Additional instruction can be had in the afternoon in any the subjects taught at fees proportionate to those of the receding paragraph Pupils must be of the specified age on January May tnd September respectively for the three terms Pupils will be admitted at the half-term for 5s more than 1alf the above fees Boarders are received by one of the Masters The terms ire £16 10s per term payable in advance or it can be paid η three instalments £5 10s at the beginning of the term md the same sum at the end of one month and two months espectively One month's notice is required in case of emoval at the end of the term Application for Admission -This should be made if pos- ible one month before the first day of the term when the ο ο
