TECHNICAL CLASSES 543 The Carpenters' Company acting in conjunction with the Council of King's College London have established at King College London Evening Lectures on Architecture and Building Construction an Architectural Studio and Classes for Constructional Drawing Quantities and Wood-Carving ARCHITECTURE AND BUILDING CONSTRUCTION Professor Banister Fletcher The Course of Lectures and Classes will comprise the sub- jects in which candidates are examined at the Royal Institute of British Architects' Examinations for Building Surveyor which Examinations take place in April and October in each year also the subjects in which candidates are examined at Carpenters' Hall in June in each year also subjects required in the Examinations at the City and Guilds Institute and the Science and Art Department All students have the advantage of borrowing books from the Architectural Reference and Lending Library Lectures These will be given on each Monday from to by Professor Banister Fletcher Professor of Architecture and Building Construction at King's College Each Term will last twelve weeks or thereabouts Subjects Architecture and its History Foundations Brickwork Building Stones Timber its several forms and uses Iron and its use in Building Materials strengths stresses and strains Limes Crments Concrete Masonry Fireproof Construction Carpentry roofs and their constructions Plastering and Materials Plumbing and Sanitation Shoring Model Bye-iaws Fee £1 Is for each Term or £2 12s ed for the Course three Terms
