518 evening classes preceding year In this case Prizes and Certificates will be awarded as if it were separate Class IV Student not joining the Division of Latin Greek or Mathematics to which he is assigned at the beginning of the Session by the Professor or Senior Lecturer see Sec- tion VII Clause 14 shall forfeit all claim to Prize or Certificate in that subject There is also an examination in each subject at the close of every Summer Session and Certificates of Distinction and Merit are then given to all who obtain respectively three- fourths or three-fifths of the whole number of marks VI No Prize or Certificate can be awarded unless earned by- Regular and punctual attendance in the particular class for which the reward is given Good conduct Absolutemeritin the examination VII The highest number of marks assigned to each sub- ject is 100 The standard for First Class which alone will carry Prize or Certificate of Distinction is 75 marks and upwards The Standard for Second Class which will confer Certificate of Merit is 60 marks to 75 The Stand- ard for Third Class is 50 marks up to 60 All below 50 are placed in the Fourth Class The number of marks gained is not made known but Student may ascertain in the Office the Class in which he has been placed and his position in that Class VIII The Prizes and Certificates are given at an Even- ing Meeting held during the Summer Session IX Certificates of having College prize made out under the signatures of the Principal and Secretary may be obtained by application at the College Office Fee 25 6d fox each Certificate
