352 FACULTY OF MEDICINE Rules for Students attending Midwifery cases at King's College Hospital Students attending cases of labour are divided into Regular and Non-regular attendants φ Two Regular attendants are appointed by the Physician- Accoucheur or Assistant Physician-Accoucheur from Students who have completed one course of Midwifery Lectures they hold office for one month during w7bich time they must reside within half mile of the Hospital They act under the guid- ance of the Resident-Accoucheur with whom they must leave their address on commencing duty Any Student is eligible for appointment second time One or more extra Regular attendants may be appointed at the discretion of the Physician- Accoucheur or Assistant Physician-Accoucheur limited number of Students may have their names entered upon the sanction of the Physician-Accoucheur or of the Assistant Physician-Accoucheur as Non-regular atten- dants in book kept by the Resident-Accoucheur who allots cases to them but preference in allotment will be given to the Regular attendants It is the duty of the Regular attendants and in their absence or engagement of the Non-regular attendants to go immediately on being summoned to all cases of labour occurring during their respective period of office Every Student will be held personally responsible for every case that has been assigned to him The attendant must visit his patients for four con- secutive days after delivery and continue his attendance as frequently and as long as the urgency of the case may require The attendant must fill up the patients card and deliver it to the Resident-Accoucheur within week after labour When any deviation from normal labour or convalescence occurs concise report must be sent in to
