faculty of medicine 163 Clinical Midwifery and Gynecology Clinical Lectures are delivered once fortnight by Prof Playfair and Dr Hayes alternately Practical Midwifery Midwifery cases are attended by Students of the Hospital under the superintendence of the Assistant Obstetric Physician and with the immediate aid of the Assistant Resident Accoucheur It is incumbent on all Students of the Hospital to take duty in the Midwifery Department for one month unless specially exempted by the Dean Pathology Dalton Professor The Pathological teaching comprises Course of Thirty Lectures Course of Pathological Histology in which students prepare and examine under the microscope specimens of diseased tissues At the end of the course the students possess collection of about 50 specimens illustrative of the microscopical appearances in the principal diseases There is no extra fee for this course Demonstrations in the Post-Mortem Room During the winter special demonstration is also given once week on specimens obtained from the Post-Mortem Room Demonstrations on preserved specimens in the Museum by the Demonstrators of Medical and Surgical Pathology The proximity of King's College Hospital to the Royal College of Surgeons enables the Demonstrators to instruct special classes in the Museum of the latter Institution
