260 FACULTY OF MEDICINE III Operative Surgery Barrow In accordance with recent resolution of the Royal College of Surgeons course of Operative Surgery is now arranged and will be given during the Spring and Summer of each year The class will be divided into sections of about ten Students to each Subject and will be held daily from to 10 30 till the work is finished Descriptive General considerations as to the management of Surgical operations Detailed consideration of Amputations Excisions Litho tomy Lithotrity Ligature of Blood-vessels Abdominal Surgery Plastic Surgery and various minor operations Practical The performance of the various operations upon the dead body by the Student The Fee for the course is £5 55 or in the case of Matrie ulated Medical Students of King College £2 2s exclusive of the'cost of the Subject Classes are also arranged for the higher examinations and for the army and navy two Students for each Subject Fee £5 5s each Clinical Surgery Rose Professor White Tutor Professor William Rose gives Clinical Lecture every Tuesday and special demonstrations in cases every Thurs- day The tutor in Surgery takes Senior Class around the Surgical wards daily Clinical examinations at which the senior students are exercised in the examination of cases and the diagnosis and treatment of Surgical cases are held on Thursdays at Mr Kenny gives special demonstrations in Surgical Anatomy in the Dissecting-room to all Candidates before they present themselves for the Examination in Surgery of the Examining Boards
