220 FACULTY OF SCIENCE The successful Candidates if not already Matriculated Students must immediately Matriculate in one of the Faculties of the College other than the Evening Classes The Exhibitions will be paid in six consecutive Terminal instalments at the end of each Term provided the Student has been in attendance as Matriculated Student and pro- duces to the Secretary Certificate of good conduct and of satisfactory progress in his studies from the Dean of his Faculty and the Principal In the event of any Exhibitioner failing to fulfil the foregoing conditions his Exhibition will lapse Subjects of Examination any four at the option of each Candidate of the following subjects viz Mathematics including Arithmetic Algebra Eu clid II III IV VI and Plane Trigonometry Elementary Mechanics Physics including Hydrostatics Pneumatics and Heat Inorganic Chemistry Botany -The same departments of this Science as are included in the first Sc and Preliminary Science Pass Examination of the University of London Zoology -The same departments of this Science as are included in the first Sc and Preliminary Science Pass Examination of the University of London Geology -The formation of the surface contour of the earth the sequence and divisions of the stratified deposits the range and description of characteristic fossils and the application of Geology to the Arts and Manufactures Elementary Crystallography the description and identification of the more common earthy and metallic minerals the methods for calculating specific gravities and the use of the blow-pipe One hundred marks will be assigned to each subject
