engineering 187 Occasional Students may take up any branch which they nay wish to follow and can attend the classes whenever the 00m is open for work It will be seen from the above outline of the course of study hat the Students are not only encouraged to make careful nd accurate working drawings directly bearing on the ubjects in which they receive instruction from the Professors Civil Engineering Building Construction and Architecture Mechanical Engineering and Art but also receive such ractical course of training in the principles and practice instrumental drawing as enables them to at once enter ligh class offices on leaving the College Class lectures on Geometry Perspective Isometry &c are iven and the Students work out the course suggested by uch lectures and their Engineering Mechanical or Architec- ural drawing on alternate days When desired by non-Matriculated Students special atten- ion is given to the requirements of the Examinations for Woolwich Sandhurst &c All Students are required to rovide themselves with Rawle's "Practical Plane Geometry nd Hulme's tC Mathematical Instruments and How to Use rhem together with drawing board and all other needful ippliances for successful work Chemistry Students of the first year attend Course of Theoreti- al and Applied Chemistry from 10 20 to 11 20 on Tues- lay and Friday throughout the Academical Year The ollowing subjects will be discussed Introduction -Illustrations and examples of chemical iction Indestructibility of matter Simple and compound ubstances Laws of chemical combination in definite and nultiple proportions Dalton's atomic theory Principles of ihemical nomenclature Symbolic notation Formulae and iquations Calculation of the quantities by weight taking art in reactions
