130 FACULTY OF ARTS III The regular work of the Term will begin on Thursday October Thursday January 11 and Thursday April 12 on which days all Students are required to be present in Chapel at 10 unless special leave of absence is obtained before- hand from the Principal IV The Council require that Half-term's Notice be given to the Secretary in writing of the removal of Student from the College This notice must be given before the close of the first half of the Term in which Student is to leave and if not so given the payment of Half-term's Fees will be required In 1893-4 the Half-terms will end on November February and May 24 The Students received into this Faculty are Matriculated Students or those admitted to the regular and full prescribed course of study Each Candidate for Matriculation must produce testi- monial of good character from his last instructor and when admitted by the Principal must subscribe his name to declaration that he will conform to all the rules andregula- tions which may from time to time be prescribed for the good government of the College under the sanction and authority of the Council Special Certificate is required in the case of Pupils coming up from the School See page 608 Except by the special permission of the Principal no one is admitted Student of this Faculty under sixteen years of age Special arrangements are made for the superintendence of the studies of Students preparing for the Matriculation and Examination of the University of London The regular Course of Instruction in this Faculty extends over three Academical Years Each Year consists of Three Terms viz Michaelmas Term from the beginning of October to the week before Christmas Lent Term from the middle of January to the week before Easter Easter Term from Easter to the beginning of Julv
