128 FACULTY OF ARTS has been thus recognized and authorized to receive fifty students men only Such Students are enrolled as Matriculated Students of the Faculty of Arts They attend the Classes of this Faculty in all subjects not distinctly professional so far as such classes are suitable Queen's Scholars who have satis- factorily passed tioo years in this Department are allowed to obtain the Associateship by an attendance afterwards for one Winter Session in Divinity and any other four classes in the Evening Class Department provided they obtain at least half marks in Divinity and in two out of the four classes at the final examination and receive in their entire three years' course the Prizes and Certificates required for the Associateship in the Faculty of Arts No Entrance Fee will be charged to Queen's Scholars and each Student will in addition to receiving free tuition be allowed out of the Government Grant payment of Ā£ per annum payable in three instalments The Council will receive all Students in the first instance on probation At the expiration of limited time their qualifications will be reported on by the Principal and the Normal Master Should the report be satisfactory they will be allowed to continue if not they will leave the College or remain further time on probation as the Council shall decide The Council however reserve to themselves the power of declining Student at any period of his training if the report of their officers as to his progress or conduct is not satisfactory Students will be required to teach in the Practising Schools recognized by the Council and will be required to give criticism lessons in all years of their training limited number of Private Students can be admitted to the professional course in this Faculty Such Students may attend the Normal Master's Lectures in the Theory and Practice of Teaching and share with the Queen's Scholars the
