86 THEOLOGICAL DEPARTMENT XTTI י 01 HOODS Under the special sanction dated March 26 1862 of th late Archbishop Sumner permission to wear distinctiv ei Hood was given to Associates of this Department in Ho Orders Under the further sanction of the present Archbishop Canterbury dated March 1885 this Hood is conformabl to the general pattern approved for Theological College the Upper House of Convocation of the Province Canterbury on February 15 1882 It is made of thic black poplin edged on the outside with quarter of inch and on the inside with one inch of mauve silk The Silk Hood formerly in use may still be worn by thos who purchased it before February 15 1882 but Messrs C01 and Son are prohibited from supplying Hoods of this pattern without written order from the Secretary XIV sambrooke exhibitions Exhibitions not exceeding £20 year for one or two year and payable out of the interest arising from the Legac bequeathed to the College by the late Thomas Godfrey Sam brooke Esq are granted to Matriculated Students of th Theological Department whose circumstances are shown the satisfaction of the Principal to place them in need of pecuniary assistance and whom the Principal shall from tim to time select Applications stating all circumstances to made to the Principal on forms supplied in the office XV TRENCH GREEK TESTAMENT PRIZE The former Pupils and Friends of the late Right Reveren Richard Chenevix Trench having presented to College the sum of 156 this sum has been invested in London and North Western Railway per cent Debenture Stock וי י
