04 TECHNICAL CLASSES VIII cduucrtl ttnstrttrtton The CARPENTERS' COMPANY acting in connection with the COUNCIL OF KING'S COLLEGE LONDON have established at King's College in the Strand Evening Lecturks on Building Construction and Architecture Drawing Classes and Classes for Instruction in Wood- Carving all beginning on Monday October ARCHITECTURE AND BUILDING CONSTRUCTION The Course of Lectures and Classes will comprise the subjects in which candidates are examined at the Royal Institute of British Architects' Examinations for Building Surveyor which Examinations take place in April and October in each year also the subjects in which candidates are examined at Carpenters' Hall in June in each year also subjects required in the Examinations at the City and Guilds Institute and the Science and Art Department The lectures will be given on Monday from to by Banister Fletcher Esq Professor of Archi- tectnre and Building Construction at King's College Each Course will last twelve weeks or thereabouts SUBJECTS Architecture and its History Foundations Brickwork Building Stones Timber its several forms and uses Iiion and its use in Building Materials strength stresses and strains Limes Cements and Concrete Masonry Fireproof Construction Carpentry roofs and their constructions Plastering and Materials ×™ Plumbing and Sanitation
