45 EVENING CLASSES 45 THE WORKSHOP see page 486 46 WRITING Day and Hour of Attendance-Tuesday from to This term applies to the kind of writing which the Govern- ment requires to be attained by all who seek appointments in the Civil Service and to that best adapted for Commercial Pursuits The instruction given in this Department is for the purpose of acquiring the style considered essential viz good bold legible handwriting divested of any superfluous decoration The attainment of this requires close and careful practice 47 COMMERCIAL DIVISION Dean Bourne Esq Sub-Dean Ε Τ Marsh This division is intended both for former pupils of the School and for any others who have already entered upon business career and wish to complete their education The regular course of instruction piovides for tuition in French German Mercantile Correspondence Arithmetic Shorthand Bookkeeping and English subjects and all other work necessary for those who have not yet passed the examination for Commercial Certificates before entering Students who have gained their Certificates and those to whom in the Sub-Dean's opinion it will be an advantage not to adhere to the examination course will have an oppor- tunity for specializing in any subjects within the regular course most adapted to their requirements Dags and Hours of Attendance-The classes begin daily except Saturday at 15 and end at 30 except on Friday ichen they end at Fees -The fees for the whole regular course of Instruction are £5 5s per Term
