400 DEPARTMENT FOR LADIES PHYSIOLOGY By Halliburton Sc Professor of Physiology King's College London and Lecturer on Physiology in the London School of Medicine for Women Fridays 2-3 The course will extend over the Michaelmas and Lent Terms and the subjects upon which lectures will be given are as follows Michaelmas Term The Blood the Heart and the Circulation-Respiration the Lungs-Ventilation-Asphyxia-Food Diet and the Digestion of Food-The Contraction of Muscles and Muscular exercise Lent Term β יי The structure of the Larynx and the Voice-The Brain Spinal Cord and Nerves-The Senses Sight Hearing Taste Smell and Touch-The Microscope and its uses in Physiology The course will not be designed to meet the requirements of any special examination but will aim at giving Practical insight into the uses of Physiology in common life and its application to the laws of Hygiene Text-books will be recommended to the students to assist them in their work and practical demonstrations will be given from time to time in the Physiological Laboratory of King's College Fee for each Term £1 Is
