392 DEPARTMENT FOR LADIES Weekly exercises will be set and work done will be cor- rected by the lecturer Text Book Brook-Smith's Arithmetic in Theory and Practice Elementary Mathematics course of lessons on Elementary Mathematics will be given as under covering about what is required for Matricu- lation at the University of London Algebra Wednesday 3-4 Text Booh Hall and Knight's "Elementary Algebra Geometry Monday 2-3 Euclid -IV with the most important easy riders Text Book Hall and Stevens' 11 Euclid Elementary Mechanics Monday 3-4 Text Book Lodge's Mechanics It will bo the special design of the lecturer to make clear the fundamental laws and assumptions of each subject No preliminary mathematical knowledge will be demanded from those who attend the courses on Algebra and Geometry but those who take Mechanics should know the rudiments of the other two Weekly exercises will be set on each subject and work sent up will be corrected Advanced Mathematics Any Students who wish to read other mathematical subjects are requested to communicate with the Lecturer at one of the above-named times Fee CI Is for each Class per Term
