ן MEDICAL DEPARTMENT 319 whose care the patient was admitted and to the Pathological Registrar Assistant House Physician -The examination for this office is the same as that required for the office of Physician's Assistant This Officer will not reside in the Hospital He shall supply the place of the Physician's Assistant during his necessary absence and assist him when required except at such times as he is in attendance on the Physicians to the Out-Patients He shall make chemical and microscopical examinations and be responsible for all instruments and apparatus entrusted to his care He shall attend in the Out- Patient department at one o'clock daily and remain there until all the Out-Patients have been prescribed for shall occupy separate desk and see such patients as are allotted to him by the Physician in attendance Candidates must have served the office of Clinical Clerk to the Out-Patients but no Student is eligible to enter on the duties of this office at period later than five years and half from the time of his Matriculation or year of standing see page 265 in the Medical Department or six years and half if he have passed the Primary the Inter- mediate Examination of London or the corresponding Examination of any other British University Candidates may be admitted to the examination before obtaining their diplomas but no one will be allowed to enter upon his duties until he shall be qualified by some diploma to practise medicine or shall be full member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England-that is have passed in Medicine as well as Surgery Such Assistant House Physicians as shall have performed their duties to the satisfaction of the Committee of Manage- ment and the Council during six months shall if otherwise eligible be considered as having ceteris paribus claim to be elected to the office of House Physician Physician-Accoucheur's Assistant -He shall be qualified by some Diploma to practise Medicine Surgery or Midwifery at the date at which his duties commence and shall have served
