184 engineering Evening Classes The Workshop is also open in the evening on payment special fees see page 486 The tools required by students for the Carpenters and Machine shops may be purchased from the College and cost about Ā£6 Students may obtain estimates of the cost of the necessary materials from the Professor Detailed lists of these are kept in the workshops and in the Secretary's office No matriculated student can be admitted into the work- shops at any other hours than those mentioned in the time- table see page 207 without previous permission from the Professor and the Dean of the Department This sanction will only be given on condition that the applicant is not thereby neglecting other duties in the College and that he pays an additional fee equal to one-half that paid by occa- sional students No student can be permitted to occupy the time of or have assistance from any of the workmen out of the regular hours of attendance named in the Calendar Regulations for Students No Student is allowed to wear the College Gown in the workshop or Coat with long skirts or loose sleeves or to work in shirt-sleeves without their being turned up so as to be out of the way No Aprons may be worn by Students when using any of the Machines driven by steam-power II No Student is allowed under any circumstances to inter fere with any of the Machines except the Machine with which he is actually engaged at work III No Student is allowed to interfere in any way with the Bell signals or to give the signal for starting or stopping the
