GENERAL LITERATURE 118 III REGULATIONS RESPECTING STUDENTS The days for the admission of new Students in the Aca- emical Year 1891-92 are Tuesday September 29 Wednesday an nary 13 and Wednesday April 27 All new Students are examined on iheir joining the ollege with the view of ascertaining that they are ufficiently advanced to enable them to take advantage of he College classes The Principal and Professors have the power of sending back for time any who may be considered unqualified for admission ן The Mathematical subjects are Euclid Books II Arith- inetic and Elementary Algebra including simple Equations The Examination in Classics will be in Grammar and in passages to be translated from Standard Greek and Latin authors also an easy passage for translation from English into Latin prose II One Exhibition of £50 given out of the Sambrooke Trust will be awarded to the Student who passes the best xamination in Classics on entering this Department in October 1891 provided he is under seventeen years on October See page 129 III The regular work of the Term will begin on Thursday October Thursday January 14 and Thursday April 28 on which days all Students are required to be present in Chapel at 10 unless special leave of absence is obtained before- hand from the Principal IV The Council require that Half-term's Notice be given to the Secretary in writing of the removal of Student rom the College This notice must be given before the close of the first half of the Term in which Student is to leave and if not so given the payment of Half-term's Fees will be required In 1891-2 the Half-terms will end on November February 25 and June
