civil SERVICE CLASSES 501 week Or Candidates for Second Division Clerkships can attend the Excise Class Candidates for Boy Clerkships the Customs Class and Candidates for the Customs the Boy Clerks or the Excise Class The fee is proportionate to the period of attendance Upon proper cause being shown Students can be transferred from one class to another Students who have the whole of their time for preparation are recommended also to attend one evening week in Division II where the collective instruction of Division is sup- plemented by individual instruction This can be done by an additional payment of £1 17s for one period of 10 weeks £3 3s for two such periods These periods correspond to those of the collective Classes which the Students attend Division II is particularly recommended to those who are very weak in Arithmetic and to those who have only short time for preparation If Student be declared successful while attending these Classes the unexpired portion of his fee will be returned or transferred to another Class at his own option In the latter case the Student's attendance in the new Class can be deferred for time Fees are not returned in any other circum- stances Absences of month on holidays are allowed for Shorter absences cannot be allowed for Inquiries respecting this Division should be addressed to the Secretary King's College or to Messrs Braginton and Η inks Edgcumbe House Friends Road Croydon -SECOND DIVISION CLERKSHIPS INCLUDING LONDON COUNTY COUNCIL CLERKSHIPS AND CLERK- SHIPS AT CUSTOMS OUTPORTS See above for arrangements that are common to all Classes in Division Competitions for Second Division Clerkships were formerly held three times year It is probable that they will in future he held twice year-perhaps in May and November
