196 ENGINEERING examination in the book entitled "Workshop Appliances Longman's Series These prizes are determined by the Professor of Mechanical Engineering and the Superintendent together VI Every Student is expected to furnish himself with set of the simplest tools requisite for working in wood and metals The Student may purchase his tools at the College and upon his leaving they will be repurchased from him at reduction depending on the condition in which they are returned The following is the Cost of the Tools which are generally considered to be necessary £ Set of Carpenter's Tools and Box 44 Set of Turnery Tools for Wood Iron hand 10 י Set of Chisels and Files for Iron VII Students may obtain estimates of the Cost of the necessary materials from the Superintendent Detailed lists of these are kept in the Workshop and in the Secretary's office Vlli No Matriculated Student can be admitted into the Workshop at any other hours than those mentioned in the Time Table see pp 205-8 without previous permission of the Superintendent and of the Dean of the Department This sanction will only be given on condition that the applicant is not thereby neglecting other duties in the College and that he pays an additional fee equal to one-half that paid by Occasional Students No Student can however be permitted to occupy the tim of or have any assistance from the Workmen out of the regularhours of attendance named in the Calendar Occasional Students Occasional Students are required unless other special arrangements are made with the Superintendent to adhere as closely as possible to the course prescribed for Matri- culated Students
