1 12 GENERAL LITERATURE barter $ri This Prize has been founded by the late George Redan 11 Carter Esq and consists of Gold Medal and Books valued together at Ā£15 The prize is awarded for English Original Verse and 18 open to all Matriculated Students of the College who have completed one Term and not exceeded nine Terms Students of the Evening Classes are subject to special conditions for which see Evening Class Department Section XIV The exercise must not exceed 200 lines Subject for 1891 At the Sources of the Nile Gold Medal and Prize 1890 Gough Arthur Bradly Prizeman 1889 Pope Edward Valle Stephen Sir George Stephen has presented to the College sum of Fifty Guineas which is invested in the Public Funds The Annual Interest is given in Books for the best English Essay on such subject as shall be fixed by the Principal This prize is open to all Matriculated Students of the Col- lege not being Associates and notbelongingto the Theological Department who have completed one Term and not exceeded nine Terms Students of the Evening Classes are subject to special conditions for which see Ev Class Dep Sect XIV Subject for 1891 Our maritime power as an element of national greatness
