THE SCHOOL 513 kit The special subject of study in this Division is Mathe- ו- matics The regular course of instruction includes Physical and Political Geography Geology Chemistry Electricity and Magnetism English History and Literature French German yeid Freehand Drawing Greek Latin and Geometrical Drawing may be substituted or some of the above subjects when such instruction is preferred Lectures in English Literature are given to the Upper Ds 3ixth Form by Professor Hayles Lectures in Chemistry are given to the Upper Forms by Kir Johnson and Elementary Lectures in Science to lie Lower Forms by Mr Tomlinson 14 bo -The Commercial Division This Division is intended to prepare Pupils for Mercantile ife for the higher Mercantile course in the General Literature Department in King's College for Clerkships in the Home Uivil Service and similar appointments It also affords the nstruction requisite for the junior course of Commercial Education recommended bv the London Chamber of Com- Lierce see Appendix page 165 The special subjects of study in this Division are French ο fa 5-erman or if desired Spanish or Italian all which are aught colloquially as well as grammatically and include Commercial Correspondence The regular course of instruction conforms as far as pos- Ible to the scheme for Junior Commercial Education adopted the Associated Chambers of Commerce at the instance of le London Chamber of Commerce and printed in the Appendix he examinations to be held under this scheme by the College ί Preceptors have been arranged in consultation with the xford and Cambridge Schools Examination Board and κ κ
