348 department for ladies Easter Term 1890 Overthrow of the Monarchy of Louis XIV Reign of Louis XV Rise of the Prussian Monarchy Intellectual and Material Condition of France at the close of the reign of Louis XV ANCIENT HISTORY By Professor Warr Thursday 4-5 commencing Oct 11 th The course as whole is so arranged as to give connected view of the Ancient World viz Primitive Civilisation and the chief nations of the East First Year Ancient Greece Second Year Ancient Rome Third Year The lectures will be supplemented by demonstrations in the galleries of the British Museum Ethnographical Asiatic Egyptian Assyrian Phoenician Greek Etruscan Roman and Anglo-Roman Classes will be held in addition to the lectures for more detailed study of Greek and Roman History with which is included portion of Greek and Roman Literature especially the Greek poetry and philosophy and the poetry of Virgil and Horace in English translations -Each series is complete in itself and maybe attended separately
