medical department 243 The Fee for the course is £3 3s or in the case of Matric- ulated Medical Students of King College £2 2s Each Student will also be charged 7s 66 towards the expenses of the Subject All Students who propose to go up for their final examina- tions at the Conjoint Board before May of next year are requested to send their names immediately after Christmas to Mr Watson Cheyne 59 Welbeck Street so that the necessary arrangements may be made Classes are also arranged for the higher examinations and for the army and navy two Students for each Subject Fee £5 5s each 12 Principles and Practice of Medicine The Lectures on the Principles and Practice of Medicine are exemplified by Preparations Drawings and Models and by recent Specimens of diseased structure On account of the great extent of the subjects embraced in this Course some of them are treated of only in alternate years 'r Clinical Lectures are given twice week during the Winter and Summer Sessions by the Physicians 13 Materia Medica and Therapeutics In this Course an account is given of the natural history chemical composition and mode of action of the Substances used as Medicines The Lectures are illustrated by Experiments and by the Drugs and Pharmaceutical Preparations presented to King's College by the Society of Apothecaries by the late Sir Henry Halford Bart by Messrs Savory and Moore and by other liberal friends of the College The Museum is further enriched by the collection of the late Professor Royle and has an extensive series of coloured drawings of plants Collection of Materia Medica has been formed expressly for the use of Students The text-book used in this Class is Dr Garrod's ςς Essen- tials of Materia iedica and Therapeutics
