department of science 151 II SYLLABUS OF LECTURES -Divinity All Matriculated Students must attend the Divinity lectures unless exempted by the Principal Lectures are delivered by the Principal every Wednesday on the Holy Scriptures The subject for next Session will be the Prophetical Books of the Old Testament There are terminal examinations in the lectures when Students are classed according to merit The 4'Barryיל Prize will be awarded at Midsummer to the Matriculated Student who passes the best examination in Divinity irrespective of the year to which he belongs No one can gain this Prize more than once -Mathematics Pure and Applied Lectures First Year -Monday 10 20-11 40 Tuesday 11 45-1 Wednesday Thursday Friday 10 20-11 40 Second and Third Years -Monday 11 45-1 Tuesday 10 20-11 40 Wednesday Thursday Friday 11 45-1 The Subjects of these Lectures are Arithmetic Euclid Plane and Spherical Trigonometry Mensuration Conic Sections Algebraic Geometry Differential and Integral Calculus Differential Equations Solid Geometry Elementary Mechanics Analytical Statics Newton's Principia Hydro- statics and Elementary Astronomy The Students of each year are divided into four Divisions according to their proficiency and in these Divisions they are arranged in order of merit at each Examination Prizes and Certificates -At the Examination which is held at the close of the Easter Term Prizes and Certificates are given under the same rules as are laid down under the head of Classical Literature
