484 CIVIL SERVICE CLASSES ז A-HIGHER CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATIONS In this Section are received Candidates for Higher Division Class Clerkships Subjects of Examination all optional -English Composition marks 500 English History 500 English Language and Literature 500 Greek 750 Latin 750 French 375 German 375 Italian 375 Mathematics 250 Natural Sciences 000 Logic and Mental and Moral Science 500 Jurisprudence 375 Political Economy 375 deduction of 125 is made from the marks assigned to each subject Class Clerkships include Treasury Clerkships salary £250 to £600 with higher appointments to £1 000 Colonial Office Clerkships salary as in Treasury Home Office Clerkships salary £200 torn £600 with higher appointments to £900 Clerkships in Secretary Office Post Office salary £150 to £250 with higher appointments to £900 Local Government Board Clerkships salary £200 to £350 with higher appointments to £800 &c &c The salary in Higher Division appointments is £100 rising by triennial increments of £37 108 to £400 To this duty-pay not exceeding £200 may be added Candidates must be between 18 and 24 Candidates for Eastern Cadetships Student Inter- preterships British Museum Assistantships Assist- ant Examinerships in Patent Office India Office Superior Clerkships Metropolitan Police Court Clerkships Foreign Office Factory Inspector- ships &c Candidates preparing for Clerkships in Prisons Bank of England and other Lower Examinations for which there are no special classes at King's Colle ire
