Γ 10 MEDICAL DEPARTMENT No attendant must use any obstetric instrument ad minister ergot of rye or chloroform or introduce his han into the uterus without the sanction of the Resident Accoucheur With the view of preventing as much as possible th risk of conveying septic disease every attendant mus provide himself with bottle containing in 20 solution carbolic acid with which he must wash his hands befon proceeding to labour He must also carry with him phial of carbolic acid for the purposes of lubrication 10 No attendant whether Regular or Non-regular can dissect or frequent the post-mortem theatre 11 No Regular attendant can hold the appointment Sursreon's Dresser or Phvsician's Clerk The Clerks of thei Physician-Accoucheur and all those holding Out-Patienlj appointments are exempted from this rule 12 Every attendant wishing to be temporarily off duty must arrange with the Resident-Accoucheur and submit to him the name of another properly qualified attendant whoi undertakes all responsibility during his absence 13 The Resident-Accoucheur has authority to suspend from duty any attendant infringing these rules but he must report such suspension to the Physician-Accoucheur within twenty-four hours 14 No Student will receive certificate for practical in struction in Midwiferv unless he has attended at least tei cases in connection with King's College Hospital 15 Regular attendants will receive special certificate
