MEDICAL DEPARTMENT 299 onditions laid down in the Calendar relating to the Phy- sian'g Assistant and that the Physicians of the Hospital verally certify that he is suitable officer for the appoint- 3nt The Assistant House Accoucheur is promoted to the fice of Physician-Accoucheui Assistant under similar rcumstances and conditions If these conditions be not mplied with the vacancies in the above appointments will filled up by examination in the usual way Should vacancy occur in any office held by Student the Hospital except that of Physician's Assistant Physician-Accoucheur's Assistant it will be filled up the unexpired term by examination in the usual iray tiijVa0 iw fir Out-Patient Medical Clerks -There shall be eighteen Out- atient Medical Clerks four for each Assistant-Physician xcept in the case of the Assistant-Physician for Diseases of Vomen and Children who shall have six three of whom Ivill hold office for three months and the other three for the emaining three months They shall have diligently attended ix months' Medical Practice The examination shall be in he Anatomy of the viscera in Materia Medica and in the Practice of Medicine In the case 01 the Clerks to the ssistant-Physician for the Diseases of Women and Children he Practice of Medicine required shall have relation chiefly to these diseases The viva voce examination shall be chiefly in Anatomy The Clerks shall attend regularly at the re- spective hours and on the days of the Physician under whom they are appointed They shall register and prescribe in turn for the Out Patients under the direction of their respective Physicians The Clerks to the Assistant Physician for the Diseases of Women and Children shall when they have become instructed by attending lectures on Midwifery take part with the Assistant House Accoucheur and the Clerk to the Physician for Diseases of Women and Children in attending Midwifery cases In-Pat'1ent Medical Clinical Clerks -There shall be eight Medical In Patient Clinical Clerks Candidates must have
