02 GENERAL LITERATURE London Professor Warr's Lectures on Ancient History and Literature Tuesday afternoon may also be attended by Matriculated Students of this Department without extra fee Lectures will be given and papers periodically set by Mr Hetherington on Greek and Latin Philology and Grammar The Subjects for the Intermediate and Examinations of the London University are read in the First Division and those for the Matriculation Examination of the London University in the Second Division The Subjects for the Matriculation Examination at Trinity College Cambridge which are the same as for the previous Examination are read 111 the Second Division during the Lent Term The work of the Third Division is elementary The Classical Mathematical English and other Lectures in this Department comprise all the subjects required for the Indian Civil Service Examination Candidates for this Examination will receive such advice and direction as they may require in their work from Professor Warr The Students are divided into three Divisions according to heir proficiency and in these Divisions they are arranged in order of merit at each examination Subjects for Lectures 1888-89 The Subjects appointed to be read for the Matriculation Intermediate in Arts and Examinations at the Uni- versity of London viz Matriculation January 1889 Sallust Conspiracy of Catiline Homer Iliad VI June 1889 Virgil neid Cyrop and Xenophon1 Intermediate in Arts July 1889 Cicero pro Cluentio Horace Epistles Homer Odyssey XVII
