department FOR ladies 355 Composition and Reading Class Wednesday 12-1 Reading of Classical and Modern German Dramas Modern Plays in Prose will occasionally be read in parts with the object of promoting facility in German Conversation at an extra hour most convenient to those ladies who may wish to join these Beading Translations from Modern English Authors Practice in writing German Letters-Dictation-Idioms and Synonymes-Original Composition optional Book recommended Buchheim's uGerman Prose Com- position Tenth Edition Bell Sons The Text-Book for Michaelmas Term will be selected at the first Lecture in order to meet the views and requirements of the members of the class The Translations and Original Compositions will be corrected by the Professor who will explain the principal corrections partly by marginal notes and partly orally at the Lectures Special assistance will be given by the Professor to those ladies who may wish to prepare for any of the University Examinations or who intend to qualify themselves for the teaching profession German Tuition by Correspondence Ladies living at distance from London may receive instruction in German by Correspondence They will be entitled to do the written work of the Composition as well as of the Grammar Class and any difficulties with which they may meet in reading the Text-Book used in the former will be explained to them in writing The ladies joining the ζ
