314 medical department limited number of Students may have their names entered as Non-regular attendants in book kept by the Resident-Accoucheur who allots cases to them but preference in allotment will be given to the Regular attendants It is the duty of the Regular attendants and in theL- absence or engagement of the Non-regular attendants to go immediately on being summoned to all cases of labour occurring during their respective period of office Every Student wiD be held personally responsible for every case that has been consigned to him Every attendant must visit his patients for four con- secutive days after delivery and continue his attendance as frequently and as long as the urgency of the case may require He must also report immediately to the Physician- Accoucheurs Assistant the fact of each Delivery Every attendant must fill up the patient's card and deliver it to the Resident-Accoucheur within week after labour When any deviation from normal labour or convalescence occurs concise report must be sent in to the Resident-Accoucheur within fortnight after his cessation of attendance In cases of labour lasting more than six hours after rupture of the membranes in cases in which the pulse rises to 100 per minute in all cases of premature labour in cases in which the placenta is not expelled within half an hour after delivery and in all cases of doubt or difficulty the attendant must communicate at once with the Resident-Accoucheur No attendant must use anv obstetric instrument ad- minister ergot of rye or chloroform or introduce his hand into the uterus without the sanction of the Resident- Accoucheur With the view of preventing as much as possible the risk of conveying septic disease every attendant must provide himself with bottle containing in 20 solution of carbolic acid with wrhich he must wash his hands before
