MEDICAL DEPARTMENT 251 Laboratory is under separate lock and key and deposit of 50 is made by each Student on taking possession The plan of study followed by each Student will depend on the object he may have in view He may work independently of any assistance for month or for longer time according to arrangement with the Professor In this case the Student pays the expenses of the materials used for his experiments with the exception of the ordinary reagents He may join the Laboratory for private study under the supervision of the Professor In this case all the necessary materials will be supplied with the exception of microscope and minor accessories He may attend the Laboratory when practical instruc- tion is daily giveh by the Professor For this purpose monthly course is given in the Winter and repeated in the Summer Session The Lectures are daily from 10 to 11 and are illustrated with diagrams and typical preparations and fallowed by practical work The exact dates of these courses are duly advertised and in this case also all necessary materials and apparatus are supplied with the exception of the microscope and its accessories Each Student must provide himself with suitable micro- scope with the necessary high-power objectives or he may have the use of such microscope by payment of two guineas per month and by making himself responsible for any damage to the microscope and the objectives while under his care This Laboratory is open to all gentlemen whether Students of other departments of the College or not The monthly courses with lectures are especially intended for Medical Ofticers of Health Veterinary Surgeons and Analysts Certificate of Attendance will be granted to each member of the Class The text-book in this Laboratory is Crookshank's "Manual of Bacteriology
