416 evening classes By the Proprietors of the "Art Journal For the best Study in Water-Colours from the Life Volume By the Council of King1s College For the best Outline Drawing from the Antique Volume These Prizes will be awarded at the end of June 1887 and will be open to all those who have been Students of the Fine Art Classes morning or evening and including those held in Kensington Square during the whole of the preceding Academical Year The Drawings must be the bona fide work of the Candidate untouched by any other person whatever and must not have been begun before October of the Academical year in which the Prizes are awarded 35 METALLURGY Day and Hour of Attendance-Monday from to This Course of Lectures established by the aid of the City and Guilds of London Institute is designed for all those who in any way have to do practically with the extraction and more especially with the applications of metals It treats of the methods by which metals are obtained from their ores and the means by which they are rendered suitable for the various requirements of the Arts The Course for the ensuing year will be on the properties of Metals and Alloys and their uses in the Arts and will probably extend over the Summer Session The following is short sketch of the proposed method of treatment -General considerations concerning the Principles of Metallurgy
