MEDICAL DEPARTMENT 321 The Physician's Assistant shall visit the medical wards aily between the hours of 10 and 12 15 o'clock in the lorning accompany the Physician during his visit and rescribe under his direction shall see such patients in tie evening as the Physician may think necessary and responsible for the proper treatment of the medical ases In the event of the death of any patient in the Medical Vards he shall send immediate notice to the Physician under yhose care the patient was admitted and to the Pathological legistrar Assistant House Physician -The examination for this office is hesame as that required for the office of Physician's Assistant This Officer will not reside in the Hospital He shall supply the place of the Physician's Assistant during lis necessary absence and assist him when required except at luch times as he is in attendance on the Physicians to the 3ut-Patients He shall make chemical and microscopical examinations and be responsible for all instruments and ipparatus entrusted to his care He shall attend in the Out- Patient department at one o'clock daily and remain there until all the Out-Patients have been prescribed for shall 3ccupy separate desk and see such patients as are allotted to him by the Physician in attendance Candidates must have served the office of Clinical Clerk to the Out-Patients but no Student is eligible to enter on the duties of this office at period later than five years and half from the time of his Matriculation or year of standing see page 271 in the Medical Department Candidates may be admitted to the examination before obtaining their diplomas but no one will be allowed to enter upon his duties until he shall be qualified by some diploma to practise medicine or shall be full member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England-that is have passed in Medicine as well as Surgery Such Assistant House Physicians as shall have performed their duties to the satisfaction of the Committee of Manage- χ
