medical department 267 knowledge of Practical Chemistry and for the prosecution scientific researches One of the Laboratories is especially arranged for the class Practical Chemistry and is open during the Winter for wo hours twice a-week and during the Summer for two ours three times a-week See page 255 Students desirous of devoting further time to the pursuits of tactical Chemistry may also become Pupils in the Laboratory aider the superintendence of the Professor and of the emonstrator of Chemistry by entering themselves at the secretary's Office For the principal subjects to which atten- ion is given see page 255 For Fees see page 276 The Laboratory is open daily from 10 til ixcept on Saturdays when it closes at VI registration preliminary arts examination Every Medical Student is required to register the com- mencement of his professional studies at the Office of the General Medical Council but no Student is allowed to register unless he produce Certificate of having passed preliminary Examination in Arts Amongst the Arts Exa- ruinations recognised for this purpose are the Matriculation Examination of the University of London the Oxford and Cambridge Local Examinations and the Special Arts Examinations periodically held at the Apothecaries' Society and by the College of Preceptors The Matriculation Examination at the University of London takes place twice year commencing on the Second Monday in January and the third Monday in June respectively Arts Examinations are held by the Apothecaries' Society three times year viz in the months of January April and September and by the College of Preceptors in March and September
