APPLIED SCIENCES 217 III regulations respecting students The days fixed for the admission of new Students in the Academical Year 1886-7 are Tuesday September 28 Tuesday January 11 and Wednesday April 20 All new Students are examined on their joining this Department in Euclid Books II Arithmetic and Elementary Algebra including Simple Equations with the view of ascertaining that they are sufficiently advanced to enable them to take advantage of the College classes The Principal and Professors have the power of sending back for time any who may be considered disqualified for admission II Two College Exhibitions of £15 each and two of £10 each will be given in October 1886 to the Students who pass the best Examinations on entering this Department See page 224 III The regular wt rk of the Term will begin on Thursday September 30 Thursday January 13 and Thursday April 21 on which days all old Students must be present at 10 unless special leave of absence is obtained beforehand from the Principal IV The Council require that Half-term's notice be given to the Secretary in writing of the removal of Student from the College This notice must be given before the close of the first half of the Term in which Student is to leave and if not so given the payments of Half Term's fees will be required In 1886-7 the Half-terms will end on November February 22 and May 28 The Students received into this Department are- Matriculated Students or those admitted to the regular and full prescribed course of study
