142 general literature and science At the end of the Academical Year Prizes are adjudged to the best Students in each year No Student can take prize more than twice Any Student meriting prize third time will receive Certificate of Honor The Barry Prize will be awarded at Midsummer to the Matriculated Student who passes the best Examination in Divi- nity irrespective of the year to which he belongs No one can gain this Prize more than once -The Greek and Latin Classics Lectures daily Saturday excepted from 10 20 to 11 40 11 45 to or The subjects of these Lectures are the works of the best Latin and Greek writers and Greek and Latin Composition both in Prose and Verse Besides the work which is done in the Lecture Room the Students are expected to prepare given portion of Roman and Greek History for each College Examination as well as an additional Classical subject In addition to the work of the First Division special Advanced Class is held on Tuesday and Friday morning for Students who are reading for Open Scholarships at Oxford or Cambridge or the Higher Examinations of the University of London Professor Warr'e Lectures on Ancient History and Literature Tuesday afternoon may also be attended by Matriculated Students of this Department without extra fee Lectures will be given and papers periodically set by Mr Hetherington on Greek and Latin Philology and Grammar The Subjects for the Intermediate and Examinations of the London University are read in the First Division and those for the Matriculation Examination of the London University in the Second Division The Subjects for the Matriculation Examination at Trinity College Cambridge which are the same as for the previous Examination are read in the Second Division during the Lent Term The work of the Third Division is elementary
