CIVIL SERVICE CLASSES 473 grades Officers are sometimes promoted for business capacity and steady conduct without being subjected to Competitive Examination VI FEMALE CLERKSHIPS IN THE POST-OFFICE MR HARCOURT AND MR BRAGINTON Hours of attendance On Tuesday from 45 to 35 Wednesday from 30 to 30 Friday from 45 to 45 Students can attend on Wednesdays only fees 17$ for six weeks or 305 for Twelve weeks Or on Tuesdays and Fridays fees Is 6d for six weeks or 10s for twelve weeks Or on all three days fees 18s for six weeks or 10s for twelve weeks All are advised to attend not less than twice week if they possibly can they ought not to attend three times unless they have the whole of their time for preparation cloak-room for ladies is provided Students are recommended to join the Class at the beginning of the course but there are admissions at intervals of six weeks Students can join at other times but their fees which should if possible be previously paid at the College Office 10UI date from the last regular admission The Secretary's office is always open for the receipt of fees from 10 to Saturdays 10 to and is kept open all day until 45 when the admission day is Tuesday or Friday Any one joining the class at the beginning of the course and proving successful in the previous competition will have returned to her the portion of her fee that is unexpired when the result is made known Subjects of Examination Handwriting Spelling Arith- metic Composition Geography and History Book required Brook-Smith's Arithmetic Macmillan 45 6d
