applied sciences 211 III regulations respecting students The days fixed for the admission of new Students in the Academical Year 1885-86 are Tuesday September 29 Tuesday January 19 and Tuesday May All new Students are examined on their joining this Department in Euclid Books II Arithmetic and Elementary Algebra including Simple Equations with the view of ascertaining that they are sufficiently advanced to enable them to take advantage of the College classes The Principal and Professors have the power of sending back for time any who may be considered disqualified for admission II Two College Exhibitions of 15 each and two of 10 each will be given in October 1885 to the Students who pass the best Examinations on entering this Department See page 218 III The regular work of the Term will begin on Thursday October Wednesday January 20 and Wednesday May on which days all old Students must be present at 10 unless special leave of absence is obtained beforehand jrom the Principal IV The Council require that Half-term's notice be given to the Secretary in writing of the removal of Student from the College This notice niu be given before the close of the first half of the Term in which Student is to leave and if not so given the payments of Half Term's fees will be required In 1885-86 the Half-terms will end on November February 20 and June The Students received into this Department are Matriculated Students or those admitted to the regular and full prescribed course of study c2
