364 EVENING CLASSES In each case typical animal will be firstly described in detail including its skeletal muscular respiratory alimentary urino-genitary and nervous systems and subsequently the more important deviations from the type The lectures will be illustrated by diagrams and specimens from the museum as well as fresh and microscopic pre- parations The lectures in the winter session of 1884-5 will be devoted to the Invertebrates 30 PRACTICAL BIOLOGY This Class will be held in the Physiological Laboratory 011 Thursdays from to This subject is divided into two Courses that during the winter session being devoted to animals that during the summer to plants During the winter session each student will personally dissect or otherwise examine so as to learn their Anatomy Histology &c all the following animals viz Amoeba Paramecium Vorticella Hydra Earthworm Distoma Fluke Snail Mussel Crayfish or Lobster Frog Fowl and Rabbit During the summer course the Structure &c of typical plants will be studied viz Yeast Mucor Penicillium Bacteria Protococcus Spirogyra Fucus Chara or Nit ell Fern Monocotyledon Gymnosperm and an Angiosperm The methods of making preparations for examination with the microscope will he taught and sections ready cut and stained for permanent specimens showing the histological structures of the various animals and plants will be given to each student 31 LOGIC Day and Hour of Attendance-Monday from to Object and Scope of Logic-Classification of Names and of Propositions-What are the things denoted by Names what is the Import of Propositions the Nature of Belief-Uses of
