MEDICAL DEPARTMENT 321 14 No Student will receive certificate for practical in- struction in Midwiferv unless he has attended at least ten cases in connection with King's College Hospital 15 Regular attendants will receive special certificate General Rules to be observed by the Resident Medical Officers and others engaged at the Hospital If any Resident Medical Officer or his Assistant be pre- vented temporarily from attending to his duty he shall apply for leave of absence to the Committee in writing Such appli- cation shall state the name of the gentleman who proposes to supply his place and shall be initialled by the Physician or Surgeon in charge for the day in token of his approval If the emergency is pressing the Secretary shall be authorised to act upon the application which shall be laid before the Committee at their next meeting None of the Resident Medical Officers shall be absent from the Hospital at the same time as their corresponding Assistant except in the case of the Physician-Accoucheur's Assistant if summoned to labour Friends visiting any of the Resident Medical Officers are required to leave the Hospital before 12 o'clock No friend of any Resident Medical Officer shall sleep in the Hospital If any of the Medical Staff wish to invite friend to dinner in the House he shall be at liberty to ask one friend entering in book to be kept for that purpose the name of the person invited and paying the sum of 2s in the Secretary's Office This book is to be laid before the Committee weekly for their inspection The breakfast room is to be cleared by 30 daily except Sunday on which day it shall be cleared by 10 30 Luncheon is to be on table at 12 45 and is to be cleared by 30 χ
