medical department 251 16 Botany In these Lectures the organisation of Plants is demonstrated their physiology explained and the different modes of classi- iication described The subjects treated of are illustrated by fresh and dried specimens of Plants and by large collection of Drawings and Diagrams The Pupils have free admission to the Royal Botanic Society's Gardens in the Regent's Park and have thus every opportunity afforded them of acquiring practical knowledge of Plants The text-book used in this Class is Bentley's Manual of Botany 17 Forensic Medicine These Lectures treat of the legal and medical relations of each question in Forensic Medicine including Toxicology The Course is illustrated by drawings preparations and speci- mens and by numerous examples from recorded trials The class-book used for this subject is Guy and Ferrier's Prin- ciplcs of Forensic Medicine 18 Comparative Anatomy and Zoology The Course consists of sixty Lectures delivered during the Winter Session and has for its prime object presenta- tion of an exact knowledge of the elements of the science based on precise acquaintance with the characters of selected "types The Lectures are so arranged as to comply with the neces- sities of the Students who are working for the examinations of the University of London and of those who devoting themselves especially to Anthropotomy desire to make them- selves acquainted with the morphology of the Vertebrata In accordance with this object the after-Christmas portion of the Course will consist of general review of the characters of the Invertebrata and special study of the Vertebrata For the Practical Class in Comparative Anatomy see Practical Biology 246 The Museum is open to all Students of the class and the Professor will give advice as to the necessary modes of studying the specimens which have bearing on the subject
